No one can say that we are not committed to our children in Las Cruces. A few years ago the City of Las Cruces added a skate park to its Hadley Sports Complex, and this weekend we will see the first-ever skate festival featuring skaters and spectators from across New Mexico and El Paso.
Free food and drinks will be available courtesy of Farley's, Texas Roadhouse, Walmart and Neuro energy drinks. Other vendors include a Hawaiian Shaved Ice stand, Shred's Board Shop, NMSU Outdoor Recreation and more.
Even if you aren't into skating it should be a really fun event. $5 for general admission includes free food and drinks, and some entertainment. You can't beat that.
Those of you with kids interested in skating, be sure to get out there and encourage them to get active. Those of you looking to move to Las Cruces, know that we have great programs in Las Cruces for our children.
